Privacy Policy

Effective June 9, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how TaxCleanse ("TaxCleanse," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit taxcleanse.com, request a free review, download a free resource, or buy a guide. By using the site, you agree to this Policy. This site is intended for residents of the United States.

Information We Collect

We collect three kinds of information.

Information you give us. When you submit the free review form, we collect your first and last name, email address, and phone number, along with the details you choose to share about your tax matter, such as the type of IRS problem, the approximate balance you owe, any deadline you are facing, the best time to reach you, and anything you write describing your situation. This can include financial information. When you request a free guide or checklist, we collect the email address you enter so we can send it. When you buy a guide, our payment processor collects your payment details, and we do not receive or store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we collect limited technical data such as pages viewed, the referring page, and general browser and device type. We use a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool that measures overall site traffic without setting cookies, without tracking you across other websites, and without building a profile of you. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, to operate and secure the site.

Information you choose to share. You control how much detail you provide about your tax matter. Send only what is needed to describe your situation.

How We Use Your Information

How We Share Your Information

With tax professionals. TaxCleanse is an educational publisher and a referral service. When you request a free review or ask us to evaluate your situation, we share the information you submit with one or more independent tax professionals, such as enrolled agents, certified public accountants, or tax attorneys, or with a partner tax resolution firm, so they can contact you and assess your matter. We may receive a fee from a professional or firm if you choose to hire them. You are never obligated to hire anyone.

With service providers. We share information with vendors that help us run the site, such as hosting, form processing, email delivery, workflow automation, and payment processing. They may use your information only to perform services for us.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of TaxCleanse, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If the site or its assets are sold or transferred, information may be part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Email and Text Messages

If you give us your email, we may send you the resource you requested and related messages about IRS topics and our guides. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.

If you give us your phone number and agree to be contacted, we and the professionals we work with may call or text you about your inquiry. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out of texts and HELP for help. Consenting to texts is not a condition of buying anything.

Your Choices

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under California law, to the extent it applies. These include the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, the right to access and delete your information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share the information you submit only to fulfill your request, as described above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email info@taxcleanse.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your request before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may also ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. We do not make such disclosures.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide what you asked for, to run our business, and to meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, then delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@taxcleanse.com and we will delete it.
